Default Exhaust Questions Help PLease

Hi everyone!

I need some help. I have a 97 F150 4.6. I am installing new CATS, 4 new O2 sensors and a Dynomax exhaust. I have 2 questions.

1. I bought 4 new O2 sensors. The 2 downstream ones plugged in and fit perfect. The 2 upstream did not fit. The plug is the same as down stream but my harness plug is different. The plug is the same but the alignment tabs are in different locations. I was told a 4 are the same? I am confused.

2. The Dynomax exhaust came with a pipe that went before the muffler. Is there another pipe before that or does that connect to the CAT pipe. If I connect the Dynomax pipe it seems I am about a foot short. Not sure if I need another pipe between the CAT and the Dynomax pipe. If that makes sense. Why wouldn't they just give you a longer pipe to cut down so it fits perfectly.

Thanks
Geo

They are not all the same, as you have noticed. Those down stream are catalyst monitors and should have a blue connector shell. The up stream sensors are the actual oxygen sensors and should have a green connector shell.

If you bought them from Ford that is. Bring back the ones that won't connect and speak to a parts person at your local Ford dealer for the correct sensors.

Or you can cut and splice the connectors from your old ones onto the new sensors, but I don't recommend that.

So what your saying is they are the same but have different plugs? If I splice the old plugs onto the new O2 sensors would they still work? I am not going to do that but I was just curious.

Yes maybe, if you got it from a wholesale closeout @ rock autocrap. Double check the Part #.

I bought an Motorcraft A/C accumulator Regular Inventory not Privately Labeled. The Box is right, the content inside has different part # compaired to the box. Has huge Company logo of different company which is Parker on the hose and they keep insisting that it's Motorcraft
