White89Gt,

I actually liked that idle. I'm going to search some more videos on that. Appreciate it.

If its just a little loud, you could always invest in dynamat or fatmat sound deadner.

I had my local exhaust shop weld in a 14" magnaflow single in/dual out muffler in place of the stock muffler (everything forward of the muffler still stock). They ran pipes to the back, angled them, tucked them up behind the bumper/rear quarter panels and dumped them. Not really visible unless you're looking for them (I cant stand the look of exhaust tips on trucks). Its not loud at all, but you know its not a stock exhaust. At cruising speed, my tires make more noise than the exhaust, and they're pretty mild AT tires.

I have a Magnaflow bolt on catback system with a single outlet, and l can say this about my sound as well. I can't really tell its there other than from a takeoff.

Billy, not sure if you have looked into our catback systems, but we design them with street driving in mind. Most of our exhausts have a conservative volume level, so you can get the deep modified sound, without being obnoxious to yourself and others. Right now we offer 2 catbacks that would fit your 4.6l: #15609, a single exit system, and #15749 which is dual exit. If you'd like any more info, feel free to send us a PM!

I have put a Dynamax VT on my 2001 Expedition, its stock sounding up to about 2800 rpm's then it comes to life, very throaty sound. I will always use this muffler!!'

I have a Pypes 2-1/2" exhaust on my 68 Chevelle convertible behind a 600HP 502 big block. It sounds like this:

I'm going to be switching to a 3" mandrel bent exhaust system with Spintech mufflers once car cruise season is over. Keep in mind my Chevelle is supposed to sound nasty and intimidating.

For my F-150 SCREW I run a 3" pipe into single inlet/dual outlet Magnaflow muffler with dual 2-1/2" pipes straight out the back. It doesn't sound anything like my Chevelle but has a nice rumble under acceleration.
