Default Exhaust Manifolds

I have a exhaust leak coming from the manifolds. I was just seeing who has put on aftermarket ones on their 5.4, and how much it cost.

I know theyre known to warp, but on my 99, I just replaced the gasket. Works just fine, now the drivers side is leaking. Are you talking headers?

Both of mine leaked really bad so i bought a set of shorty pacesetter headers off ebay for 210 bucks shipped. Comes complete with gaskets and hardware. I would opt to find headers with one soild flange rather than seprate ones like i bought, I had to have them retighted twice from them setting up. total cost was about $500 bucks

Well, I am going to go buy the manifold bolts from the dealer. The ones on my truck have lasted 250000 miles, so I say ford made a damn good bolt there. I am also going to use a ford gasket on it. I have been shopping on Jegs, and a good set of headers runs about $275. Not to bad. You can go a little cheaper and it seems that you will still get a good set.

IMO i would just replace the gasket with the ford gasket. My bro put a set of pacesetters on from summit and used the gaskets that came with them, within a week he blew the passenger side gasket out completly. We also had to do some tweaking with egr tube to get it to line up on the header. If theres no holes or cracks in the factory manifold, I would just do the gaskets. As long as you dont brake any flange bolts, its not a bad job.

I will agree it would not be a bad job if the nuts are not rusted, but most of the passenger side on mine are shot. Anybody use a grinder to bring them down to manifold then pull manifold then unscrew bolts
