Default Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Has anyone else had their exhaust manifold gaskets go bad on their 4.6L? I think mine are going bad. I hear a distinctive hiss/tick that keeps rythm with the engine firing. I will try to get a video of it but it is pretty bad when cold but is still present when warm albiet not nearly as bad.

Is this something that others have experienced?

Are there other things that can make this sound?

Oh, BTW- its a 2002 with 105k.

Hey Lenn, my gasket isn't bad (as far as i know) but I have a hole in my passenger side manifold. This just happened about a week or so ago. But it has the same hiss/tick sound that goes with the firing of the engine.

How did you find it? Is it something you could see?

Yep, I could see the hole plain as day. It was about the diameter of a headphone plug. I could see it by lifteng the skirt thing in the wheel well and it was just right in front of me.
