1999 XLT Lariat Door lock retainer clips?
I fixed the door lock a while back, but my son-in-law borrowed the truck and it seems the lock cylinder itself fell into the door leaving an empty hole. It looks like I may have lost a clip during my initial work and didn't install it during the reinstall. The original problem was that the key didn't work to unlock, guess the rods became detached but the actuator is still good.
In looking at it, it looks like there should be some type of clip to hold the cyliner in the hole. I went to the local parts place and they don't seem to have anything like this. There was a set of 3 types of clips, but none of them look like what I envision as a retainer clip. I envision a small metal clip like on a Moen, faucet valve. I guess I could just take apart the driver's side door but thought I'd check with you guys first. Thanks for any advice, pics would be good if you have them!

Looking for a Henway.

There is a wire clip that "locks" it in place. Look in the bottom of the door and see if it is there. My pass side had did not have one (both door locks had been punched out when I got it), and I used a hose clamp to keep it in place (but I don't use that lock cylinder).
Here is a DIY on Autozone's website with some pics.
You could possible wrap some wire around it to hold it in place.
