evap leak
#2
Hello, the easiest way I have found to find a evap leak. Is to blow air through the evap lines. Find evap lines under hood and blow air into the lines. The other person listens for leaks. I'm sure their are other ways. That's the way I was taught.

I get a code for that about once a year. I take the gas cap off clean the neck and wipe the seal of the cap with wd40 and but the cap back on and it goes away in a day or 2. Or if I have the scanner out I clear the code and it doesn't come back.

thanks for the responses. I saw a few youtube videos about smoke machines and will be building one. I want to eliminate this completely before my next inspection. I once erased a code on my kid's car, but when he went to get it inspected, the shop's code scanner indicated that the code was still there.

did the smoke test a couple of days ago. saw smoke coming from somewhere where the gas tank hanger strap is located on the driver's side. there appears to be a small box located there. any idea what's it used for. it's not the evap cannisters which are located in front of the spare tire. thanks again
