Default Engine/trans starts wearing out when?

2000 4.6, auto, 4X2 sport. Original owner 210k miles. I've kept up on the fluid changes, air cleaner, filters, brakes, tires, changed the plugs twice.

Repairs:
- PS pump
- cruise control actuator
- odometer solder joint fix
- temp gauge solder joint fix
- door lock actuators
- anti lock brake computer fix

I'm getting some inside wear on front tire, occasional clunk, slight wandering. Confident that it's time to go through the front suspension and realign.

Motor still doesn't burn oil, trans working fine.

I'd like this to take me to 300K. If I have a problem that would require an engine/trans replacement, I'd probably sell and move on.

Can I expect to get another 100K out of the motor, trans?

As long as you keep up maintenance it'll run forever.

All depends on how it has been treated. Some vehicles don't even see 100k miles, some see 500k+ miles. Keep up on the maintenance and you should be good.

Check your trans fluid and keep it clean and maybe add a larger trans cooler and it will keep on spinning.

I had a 97 regular cab with the 4.6 At 250,000 I still had the original water pump, starter and alternator. The motore went out at 285,000 turns out the waterpump had lasted so long, the veins completely corroded away. I was really dissapointed. I was anticipating turning over 300,000. Next I had an 05 with the 4.6 I traded it in with 265,000. The engine still didn't use any oil between changes. The tranny did go out at 250,000, but I pulled a 14 ft enclosed work trailer 75% of those miles. With regular maintainance, I'd anticipate seeing 3000,000
