Right, use it! There's a extention that fit's that boss or bung. Yea, see if your 97 extention will fit it, then thread the ect into that. Try to keep sensor out of the coolant flow. Threads should be NPT on both parts. You wanna pic ? I'll take a look , no promises lol...... -

BTW, - That wasen't Locktite 545 I used, -it was 569. I was going to use it, but went with the 569 instead. Slipped my mind, a brain __ ? Had more of the other stuff in the cabinet, plus it was newer.

Now, which throttle body do I use. The Rockauto site only lists them available for 97'-98'. Their 2003 is not listed as available. I just checked to see if they were the same or different part numbers. I now the TPS switch is the same, but am assuming to use the 98' throttle body, but wonder if the mm opening is the same and will work well on the 03' 5.4 and 98' electronics and CPU? Hope the 98' TB fits the 03' plastic intake without problems?
If the 98' TB has a smaller TB opening/mm I may not get the full benefit from the redesigned PI engine?
I'm also assuming the 03' EGR air tube is the right choice, maybe the plastic intake sits a little lower and the 03' ERG air tube will be too high to fit. I wonder if I should order both from the local dealership and just return the one that doesn't fit, 98' or 03' SS air tube.

Another question. Will the 98' flexplate work on the 03' engine. Reason I'm asking is when looking them up individually on RockAuto there is no flexplate available under 03', only for the 98' Also the 98' says good for 97'-98'. ?

I'll have to check and see if they included that with the engine. We had a terrible summer here, all it did was rain. Once fall hit I was busy working on the house. If I get this done before winter it'll be great. Snow is already forecast for 15" by mid Nov. I'd Like to hear what Jbrew has to say about the flexplate and what if any differences in the two.

The EGR pipe, yes use the newer one. Everything is the same there except for where it connects to the manifold...maybe! Some used different adapter connects. These adapters are what usually rusts out first down there. You can't just use any adapter down there either lol. It's a Ford custom adapter that use to be impossible to get. Fortunately you can get them now from Dorman Co.
Let me know if you can't find a part or diagram. I have both Service DVD's for the exact model years.

Everything is the same on the TB's, except the vacuum ports and possible the PCV port (some pcv's connect at the manifold vs plenum). Your emissions 1/8" vac harness dictates which TB Elbow/Plenum you have to use. Also keep in mind that some TB's are Top pull, -some are bottom. Look that up in Google Images.
