Default Engine "squeeled" after very sudden RPM drop

Hey guys I was driving today and I needed my truck to get up and go so I pushed the pedal all the way down till someone pulled out in front of me suddenly so I had to brake and I went from 5k to 1k RPM's very fast... I heard what can be described as turbo flutter from something up front and my first guess was the belt was moving quickly until the sudden drop in RPM's so it just squeeked to a stop... Anyone have a better idea?

Sell that truck before you kill somebody. Get yourself a moped with a one way governor. You can accessorize if you must, like say add a milk crate on the back. Preferably a red milk crate. Hopefully all that will save a few lives.

It was the belt that chirped on the up shift and letting out of the throttle.

My truck always does that. My grandpa's 04 5.4l does that. My grandma's 2010 Sierra 1500 with a 5.3l does it. My Monte Carlo even did that sometimes.

Those old dodge cummins diesels did it every time you shut 'em down.

Rush hour in traffic while following someone I had to take the gap and I did safely... Someone pulled out in front of me
