The hesitation is still there but I didn't noticed it as bad under acceleration. The idle rpm are still the same as what I reported before. I do feel a slight miss on idle and slight hesitation vibration under acceleration. noticed the hesitation/vibration while coasting at 50mph.

I could only do 10 miles of riving since is raining pretty bad over here.

I will drive some more tomorrow. I really have to get rid of this KN filter. I might see if I can at least get a cone paper filter for now until I find the OEM setup.
Yea, if you don't have the factory box anymore (I think you said you don't), measure the K&N filter opening (I believe it's a 2.75" flange).

Here's a post from the past, from user Galaxy. He had the K&N and switched to a dry element...the Amsoil, -

They aren't that pricey as well, 30-35 maybe, but they're HF nano fiber, 100,000 mile filters. I've had mine since 08, still looks new, dirt and crap won't embed in these filters. It falls off the filter as soon as you cut power to the engine. I get hardly any dust when attempting to blow it out. It's #1 in my truck. #2 would be a WIX, they just don't last as long , but are top notch.

So yea, measure the flange, have to do that if you want one for the K&N box.

Then go get one lol. I think you just have to find an Amsoil supplier.

They may have a cross ref K7N list by now...they should. Let me see, yup, -

Personally, I think you have a coil about to go. Did the same on mine. Slight skip, no codes, gradually worsening. Eventually it will throw a code. Sounds like you've got everything else checked out. Jbrew is a very useful guy to have around. Very knowledgeable resource.

yes he is. He has been very helpful as everyone else. Yeah that's what I'm thinking too, if it is a coil it will throw a code eventually. Thanks.

found a set of brand new motorcraft coils for $248 shipped. They should get here this week. I will update once I install new coils and plugs. I got back from vacation. the idle and acceleration is worse.

That's a good deal. I've been holding out for Visteons, found a guy with 9 sets, Vista Pro's. Pm'ed a few people that have been waiting for them as well. Went back to purchase a set for myself and they were gone! Some hog had to buy them all. It had to be one person for them to go that quick .

Yea good deal on the Motorcrafts (same as Visteon, just mo money). I recall pricing a new set from the dealer about 8 or so years ago, -they were 90 bucks apiece back then and you couldn't find them anywhere else. It's allot different now of course, you have choices.

Yeah the best price I found the visteons were $250 and the motorcrafts were around $360 before I found the deal.

Well I installed brand new Motorcraft coils DG508's and Motorcrafts spark plugs sp479 gaped at .054. I did the relearn and intially felt like it was better. The idle was at 700 with a/c and smooth. After driving around for an hour doing some erands I noticed the truck will idle at 600 rpm like it had been doing. The idle is still slightly shaky just like it was before.

I don't feel hesitation on acceleration. Acceleration was great while it was relearning and then it got a little slower after the long drive. I do notice some kinda of hesitation vibration while coasting and if I slowly accelerate. I'm not sure if it is drivetrain related but if I put it in neutral I think I feel the vibration still so it might be the highway.
If I rev it up in neutral while driving in the highway I don't feel any hesitation or vibration.

When I 1st started the truck after installing the parts I was still hearing the noise thru the air filter that i had previously. It is not doing it after the long drive

I don't know what else to try besides a new IAC but I really don't feel putting more money into it if I don't know the issue. The other thing it could be is the injectors. I think if it gets worse I will take it to Ford for diagnostics. At least they can tell me if the injectors are bad or something else.

I recheck for codes and I have none. SES light has always been off.

Thanks for all the suggestions. If I ever take it to Ford and I figure out what it was I will update.

I put a new motorcraft IAC and so far no change in the idle either. one thing i noticed and that is consistent is that the problem happens after the truck warms up. When it is cold I barely noticed any issues with the idle or slight hesitation under slow acceleration or cruising.
