A 2.5 Y is perfect for the engine power and torque. The 3" Y's are called offroad pipes. that translates running WFO ALL the time as it only helps way up into the rpms. It's for the offraod racing trucks. With a 3' you'll need tune. With the right tune you can run just about anything. Put it this way, you can run open headers and gain horsepower everywhere. The only thing stopping that is the tune.

does the GEM require any type of PCM signal or reading in order to function correctly, or is it completely standalone, meaning it can run without the factory PCM and wiring in place? I'm talking non-PATS.
same thing with the key ignition system in the column, is it able to be used without factory PCM wiring? meaning it can be rewired to control a different PCM and work as it should?
