Sounds like you have some grime around the plug. Soak it again, use something to break up the grime(long scewdriver/ thin chisel). Just make sure you blow that stuff out. Don't want it falling into the chamber.

Seen this before. The fix, -you take a piece of copper pipe, idunno, about a 12" long and cut teeth into one end of it. Cut through the crap around the plug. Easy to do, -works every time!

IBD has the right idea. Long thin driver. Work it around the plug and blow the debris out with air. I had a similar issue on a 98 4.6. Trash had wedged itself around the plug in the tube. It will take a little time and some elbow grease working it around. But you can clear enough away for the socket to grab the plug. Good luck man.

I've tried all these things, even the copper tube method. Nothing. Plug well is now clean but can't get on it. Looks good to me atleast

Looks like the plug has a nick or two on it. Try using a deep well 16mm

Huh, - have you tapped an extension to a 5/8 DW...real good; then line it up the best you can , -give it a few taps w/hammer ??

The plug looks good like you said.

Yea, I noticed that as well. - Maybe it needs a little help getting on lol.
