Seen this before. The fix, -you take a piece of copper pipe, idunno, about a 12" long and cut teeth into one end of it. Cut through the crap around the plug. Easy to do, -works every time!

IBD has the right idea. Long thin driver. Work it around the plug and blow the debris out with air. I had a similar issue on a 98 4.6. Trash had wedged itself around the plug in the tube. It will take a little time and some elbow grease working it around. But you can clear enough away for the socket to grab the plug. Good luck man.

I've tried all these things, even the copper tube method. Nothing. Plug well is now clean but can't get on it. Looks good to me atleast
