My question is, is it worth the price or would it be cheaper to rebuild my current motor with all high end parts, if i take it out i only want to put the top of the line parts in it. Thanks!
do you really need a new engine?

no i don't, but in the future when it becomes time to rebuild it, i might just swap it for a fresh motor if its gonna be the better way to go about it. The way i see it.. 5k into motor and trans VS A new truck... I'll drop money in my truck any day over that lol

I'd drop a fresh motor in. If you go all stock specs $4-$5k is about right.

your own rebuilt engine with quality forged parts (rods, pistons, etc) and rebuilt or new heads will run you closer to $4000

Yep. And maybe even less depending on the machine shop you find and what all you decide to replace.

If your not wanting to build any power out of it, the stock reman is perfectly fine. The powder metal rods are the weakest link, but they are good up to around 400 - 450 HP or so. Get close to or beyond that and you'll vent your block.

thanks, Ive accepted the fact my trucks not a race truck have no need for 500hp, maybe a little engine mods sense it will be fresh but nothing crazy.. and motors is the one area I'm iffy on, when the time comes I'll probably just swap a fresh 5.4 in her and call it a day. Thanks guys.

If anyone wants an alt bracket or throttle bracket let me know. I am about to give the guy back the original because I don't plan to make anymore.
