Thanks for the advice but from what I have read there is some foot work switching to the 5.4. I don't know if there is a thread on here already but the Lightning set up is a no go with me. I have been saving to buy a 2015 and I honestly like the looks and handling of my 2001 much better. The 3.55 limited slip has been buried in mud and kept on going. Knock on wood this truck has never been stuck!
I don't mind keeping a 4.6 but if the 5.4 swap is simple enough I will look into that as well.
Money on this project, umm guessing I could put about $10-12K into it by mid summer.
Then after the engine will come the rocker panel replacements and body work.
Guess I will scrap book my progress when it gets going and start a thread.
But seriously, no superchargers or turbo for this farm truck, LOL!

Everything is bolt in except for the exhaust you would need either a y-pipe from a 5.4 truck or just run longtubes, cats and ypipe obx or Pacesetter. As far as tuning goes it would just need a tune for a 5.4. Everything else is almost identical between the 2 engines.

@toddstang , There you go, better hurry lol.
No footwork, unless you turn wrenches with your feet.
