Kind of off topic but you guys don't know a machine shop that could make a part for a tractor we're restoring. It's a simple 2' shaft that has splines at both end. Local wanted $350 and a new part is $500. It'd be a very easy part to make

Soo what would you guys recommend going with as far as fuel pump and injectors for my build? Not gonna be forced induction but would a walbro 255 be needed with a slightly larger injector or should I just stick with stock sized parts?

I have a little machining experience, and I'd just pay the $500 or keep my eye out for a parts tractor or check Ebay. I wouldn't even try to save the $150 for the local shop.

Splines and gears aren't as easy to make as they seem. Even if you happen to get everything lined up, the metrology would likely be all wrong It's not going to be hardened and relieved where it should be, as it would have been if it were a manufacturer produced part.

Just my $0.02

I would got with a 255 and 24# injectors. Better to be safe, never want to run lean.

Still waiting on heads. About to blow more money on parts. Still need intake gaskets, intake manifold bolts, lifters, injectors, rocker arms, and oil pan studs. Then the big two items I still havent decided on.. cold air intake and headers.
