That motor from lightning rodder posted a few pages back. 5.4 stage 3 from mannys with the l beams,manly pistons cobra crank etc. I'm buying those pi heads off ibd as soon as he gets a shipping quote,going to tennessee to get the motor this weekend

I'm probably gonna try to do half and half. Pay a shop owner I know so I know its done right,but stick around to learn how to do it. I don't have an engine hoist or anything

I dont either. Figure ill pick one up at harbor freight for cheap and sell it after.

Its harbor freight as bad as people say? I was thinking about getting a welder there to learn on

Idk whats so bad about it. If youre gonna make a living turning wrenches go buy snap on tools.. if you need something one or two times and are a diy mechanic then id say harbor freight stuff is fine. Some stuff better than others but its definitely the cheapest place to go for that kind of stuff.

I'll probably head that way for my welder then,the closest one is in ga. I've never been there before,seems like my kind of place though

Exactly... I use stanley and bostich most of the time. I have a few snap on tools, but way too pricey for a "shade tree" engine build.

The only thing I would suggest is an impact gun, the cheapo dont last a week. Ingersol or snap on are really durable.
