Anyone know anything about mhpengines? The engine I'm looking at was built by them. He said its built off of their stage 3 block with optional I beams, cobra crank and oil pickup tube added on.

What made me do it is that since it was paid for anything I got from it would be all mine. Ended up selling it, paid the ranger off, wife's car off, honeymoon and put 4-5K in the bank.

Do I regret selling it? Not really. Do i wish I still had it, yes. My favorite mod on the truck was the stereo system. One off, one of a kind that has been copied but never duplicated. And knowin if I ever build another I couldn't do the same setup as the shop is now closed. I drove the truck to Houston to the shop, flew home(New Orleans) and a friend in Houston was coming in town 1.5-2 weeks later drove it back for me.

A retired military surgeon assistant bought it in Jacksonville, FL he owned it for 2-3years and a few months back sold it to somebody else in Jax.

Huh..So you got to follow it for a bit. That's cool, but the stereo system?? Well okay, I've had a few systems in the past that I really liked. Very old Clarion system that had the round station lens on the face and a Pioneer system. Wasn't much to them, but man they both sounded great lol.

Had an old 75 Ford 4X4 farm truck w/390. - Miss that one the most. Drink beer, chase the stud colts and philly's around with a refrigerator/passenger in tow.

You ever take your truck to the dunes ?

Honestly the best thing would be spend the money on a J&S Vampire Timing Retard System. It monitors detonation and can retard timing automatically. I'll be installing one on a full bolt on Whippled @ 15# stock block HD in a few weeks
I'll be sure I take pics.

JJ@WMS tunes it. With one revision it was spot on! Very very impressed with JJs tuning ability! Had a Rick@Amazon tune before the Whipple and the owner never thought it was what it should have been that's why he switched and is happy he did.

That is a 03 with 24K miles. I have done every single mod to it. It is very nice to have the chance to build such a nice truck without the owner saying well I don't have money for the good stuff, let's do this instead. Makes my job a lot easier when he gets the best from jump street!

Thanks Wayne, 1/8 miles aren't my issue, it's for towing and long trips. How much does the timing retard kit run?
Edit. Right now, this is the ultimate budget LSwap. I'll put up the piles of parts of cost. I'm pretty well in to green
