Have a had time buying a used built engine in a project like that.
If he had all the money for those components, why does the engine bay look like a disaster?

Good point.

I may just call and talk to the guy. See what he seems like. Not to mention I kinda want to build my own engine. I like the idea of being able to say I assembled it and picked all the parts out myself and didn't just buy one and throw it in the truck. Gives another level of satisfaction

this. Looks like a hack job he's trying to unload before it goes boom. You know damn well if he's swapped that in he's put his fair share of abuse on it. Probably blew the last one up.

Because that's what happens to an engine in a vehicle when it is stored outside on dirt or grass with a tarp over it...never do that lol.

In case you don't understand yet lol. Yea, when you tarp over grass, it's almost as bad as leaving the vehicle outside with the hood open. The aluminum is the first to turn to shiiit.

The moisture from the ground is trapped under the tarp. Same principle as plastic or viscqueen is used under concrete as a vapor barrior. It keeps the moisture down.

What's screwy about the add. He wants to sell the engine and related parts but lists a lot of unrelated parts. That could only mean that the car was once for sale as is. It probably didn't sell. Someone either advised the seller that the engine is worth more stand alone and whoever is selling it doesn't know squat about it or is getting second hand information from another acquaintance or friend. The person who built the vehicle most likley isn't selling it.

Being that the vehicle obviously hasn't been running for quite some time before that picture was taken is the killer. I mean, who in their right mind.... So yea, don't get too excited, but I bet you could get that engine at half price if pursued.

You probably mentioned it earlier, but what does knife edging the lower intake do? Also did you keep your plenum divider flap thing? I don't have one, I'm just curious. That flap makes the dual plain into a single plain at WOT right?

Yea that's what I was talking about, I knifed the divider you could say for a smoother transition. With more HP I would have took it out, but for close to factory HP you want to keep it for low end torque.

Gotcha. I don't have the divider flap so I'm stuck with a permanent dual plane, which is fine tho. Definitely gonna get a metal PI intake and gasket match it and port the TB, eventually I'll get long tubes.

When you do your port work I would be very interested in seeing a how-to if you are up for it.
