NEW dyno results 4 2000 5.4
highest read hp195.50 torque 256.99 @4000rpm's. this was before my magnaflow high flow converters. i can feel more power with the new ones, is louder also. havnt dyno'd after results yet. was told it was average for my 2000 5.4, it did gain 12 hp and torque by removing the aifilter fyi.
when i get my intake im taking it in again and dynoing just the cats and then switch out the intake and see where it sits and then in time i will get the chip. and in time after that when my motors crapped out, rebuild and a blower!

good lord i did not know our trucks were that weak.... i would have though atleast 230 horsepower. I guess time can take its toll and i know that the factory horsepower numbers are from the flywheel and not at the wheel but still...195, i mean really, its a 5.4 litre V-8... i would have though it would have alittle more. but your truck is 9 years old. god knows what power mine would have ( i have a '99)

Heres alittle something I tried.
I had been driving my truck for a couple years with the stock exhaust eccept for a pipe that had replaced the muffler.
When I 1st read that book that I posted the link above. I decided then that being I diddnt have a tuner to regain the lost torque like they did in the magazine & I didnt plan on getting 1 (cost) that I would put my stock muffler back on (it was stored in my barn & I do alot of towing).
I flanged the muffler & pipes to allow me to play with it some.
1st I tried it all stock & noticed it had better lowend part throttle but fell off quick.
2nd I removed the tailpipe & it had better pull at part throttle.
3rd I tried It with no muffler or tailpipe & it sucked LoL.
So Ive been running my truck quiet with no tail pipe LoL
Like I said, I diddnt have a tuner & I had all the parts to flanged my parts.
Only thing I had to have done was getting the pipe ends swelled.
All in all I have done the
electric fan,
K&N filter,
modified stock air box,
restriction pipe removed from the intake pipe elbow.
Ported the upper plenium,
& LoL removed the tailpipe.
