dumb question - disconnect coil harness
I want to check the ignition coil resistance but can't see how to disconnect the wiring harness connection plug. Is it necessary to remove coil from engine to disconnect the plug ?
I don't want to break the plug itself so I am hoping for a few clues.
Also, do I need to disconnect the battery before checking the resistance ?

thanks, I had not seen that tool before I will look for one.
Since battery is not required should I disconnect it before testing or can I leave it connected to prevent clearing computer ?

Update:
I did find there is a thin slot on the bottom of the connector. I was able to use a very short small flat blade screwdriver to unlock the catch.
I'm afraid that specialty tool would have been too large to access the confined area of the coil connector. It stills should be a big help on other connectors .
I did not have to disconnect the battery. Once the connector is separated there is no power to the coil.
I was then able to do the primary and secondary resistance checks and unfortunately, I need to replace the coil.
Hope this helps someone else.
