Today my drivers side power window would not go up. Passengers side
window woeks fine.

1. How do I manually raise the window?

2. How do I determine whether it is the regulator or the motor?

3. How do I remove the drivers door panel?

You gotta pull the door panel to answer questions 1 & 2.
How to pull the door panel: pop the cover off that covers the mirror bolts, pop the cover off the window controls, take the screw out behind the door handle, unscrew the 2 screws at the very bottom of the panel and lift UP not out. If you don't lift up you will break the clips off.

There are no screws anywhere on the door panel. I have checked, rechecked, and rechecked, but there are no screws

On the top of the door panel on both ends there are 2 plastic things that
look like rivets with a center that I think you push in to release the
rivet.

The only other screw is actually the bolt that holds the handle in place.

I am sending an image of the rivet on the hinged side of the door.
There is one on the latch side of the door also.

This is a 1998 F150.

those are just snaps. there could be clips around the bottom an sides holding the panel on. i just fixed my 92 drivers side window that would not go up. replaced the gear in the motor, 22.00 from autozone . ther are a couple diff gear you need to count the teeth. fairly simple to do once you pull motor out. an then you got a new gear plastic but new!

I pretty much agree with Cudaman. If the motor lowers the window, then the motor works. I have had to replace the window motor transmission, or gears, on a few motors. It is also possible it is the switch. That is pretty simple to check with a test light once the trim panel is removed.

The trim panel probably has a couple of screw to help hold it to the door, but maybe hidden behind the arm rest or pull handle.

I had the same problem with my pickup. Apparently the power window motor is grounded through the mounting rivets. You need to get in there with a large screw driver. Remove the power window switches place the screw driver at the mounting point of the window motor and smack it a couple of times. It should make connection again and you should be back in business.

ok, there were absolutely no screws holding the panel on except to bolt that attaches the door open handle to the door frame. There are also 2 plastic rivets at each corner of the panel at the top. You just pop those rivets (they are replaceable), and remove the door handle, Remove the speaker and the connector to the speaker. Remove the control panel and disconnect the wire harnesses, and then lift the door straight up. Do not pul the panel out. Lift it up, Be careful though as the courtesy lamp still has to be disconnected. Once the panel is off, carefully peel back the weather barrier and tap on the window motor and try raising the window. In my case, after tapping on the motor I was able to raise the window. I left the panel off for a few days and only lowered the window to just above the door frame. I did not let it go all the way down. Window functions normally now. Replaced weather barrier, connected courtesy lamp to the panel, and then dropped the panel over the door pull clip and into the tab slots. Replaced handle, connected control panel, and that is the way it sits and window is working except that I haven't let the window travel to its lowest point. Once I verify that I can lower the window all the way and then raise it I will reinsert the control panel, put 2 new rivets in, and replace the 2 trim pieces on either side of the door. Have never had the panel off my 02 yet to know for sure, suggest you reread the Torkum post and remove the door handle and lift up and not out. Slide the door panel up toward the sky to disengage the tabs securing the panel. Not trying to blow wind up any skirt or deflate any sails, think assembly line speed. Whats the fastest way with the least mechanical fasteners involved. Plenty of other posts here on same subject, check the search button. I'm led to believe the motor has a drum with a cable winding around it to raise and lower the window. The cable disengages the regulator.

Hello,
I just had this happen to me on my 01 supercrew. The switch in the door with all your power window buttons/lock button was bad on mine, the window would go down, and not go up. I replaced the switch and mine works fine now. If you would like i'll find the box with the part number on it and throw it up.

Window is working fine now. The switch was good. All I did after I got the panel off was to tap on the window motor a few times with a screw driver and hammer The window raises and lowers ok. Don't know why it just stopped working, but it is now working. Just in case, I have a spare motor if it happens again.
