The same thing happened to my truck, even the tail gate got stocked ( won't open ) WD 40 was the only answer! Make sure to check and spray every 3 months to keep 'em functioning well.

Thanks
yep...it should work...and if it doesnt, you may need to replace the latch mechanism in the door. but more then likely it is just stuck...if i am not mistaken, it is a magnet system so it just got jammed.
at first i hardly sprayed in it because i didnt want it to go in my door and it did nothing so i said F it and shot i whole lot in there...it was litterealy pouring out the little vents at the bottom of the doors. lol
good luck.

An issue in the past few days with battery drain. Got my truck back from the body shop with a major door replacement. Since then, I have had a battery discharge issue and as of yesterday, the battery was kaput and a full overnight 10a charge fixed it. Alt is putting out [14.3 volts] and the battery charged to 13.2 volts. Dome light and Door Ajar light were staying on today so I removed the Relay 1 for the Dome Lams. Lights are off but is this still an issue with Relay 2??

Thread bump since the issue I registered about is being addressed here:
piggington, do you still have this issue?
Last week I left the doors open on my '06 F150 for a few hours in good weather to air out the smell of a spilled drink from one of my kids that I didn't notice fast enough. Ever since then the truck hasn't recognized the drivers side doors opening.
I noticed that the dome light does not come on when I open the door to get in, and that the radio does not turn off when I turn off the truck and get out. No door ajar notices either. The truck just thinks the door is always closed.
If I have someone in the passenger side their door will turn on the dome lights and turn off the radio etc.
So I know that I'm looking at the right area, is the sensor mentioned ITT the grey lever that goes into the cab frame that has a rubber gasket around it?
Thanks in advance,

F-150 Door Ajar light stays on
Thanks! 1998 F-150 same EXACT PROBLEM! Door ajar light stays on and interior light stays on for awhile. Tonight when I got home the dome light and bed lights would not go out. Took your suggestion and sprayed all 3 doors very liberally with WD40 and whala! Lights out!
Thanks a bunch guys!
