Door Ajar light on
The door jar light on my 97 F150 SC likes to remain on when driving. Dome light too. Is this a sticking relay or switch problem?? Don't see any door switches in the jamb. The problem seems to be getting worse.

Hopefully this isn't the same problem I had when I bought my truck. I had a bunch of electrical issues, The door ajar light was one of them and it turned out to be my windshield leaking on to the fuse box which is a common problem on 97 F-150's and Expeditions. For me it happened mainly when it rained but eventually the corrosion made it stay on all the time. Check for wetness by the fuse panel under the dash on driver side

we had a lot of rain lately but all seems dry in the fusebox area. searching the archives shows a lot of door switch issues. I sprayed them this morning and so far so good. Thanks for the info, I'll file it for future use. Hope yours is OK now

I had the same problem with my 97 f150xlt. I pulled the fuse for the dome light, and put it back in after 30 mins. Haven't had a problem since and its 5 months and counting.
