Default door ajar

i got a 97 f150 and the door ajar light is either staying on or taking a really long time to turn off, both doors are shut tight. But the dome light will stay on and the rear light. Where is the censor for it? or if anyone know what could be wrong id appreciate it, id rather not have a dead battery, Thanks

There are spring loaded switches in both doors. You might be able to spray the area (located behind the latch mechanism) with some penetrant to free the offending one up. I had to remove mine (PITA) to free it up. Good luck!

spray wd-40 in it

Someone just posted a thread on this about a week ago. They said to spray it with wd-40 until it is coming out the bottom of the doors (leave your doors open so you dont make a mess inside). I tried it and it worked like a charm.
