Coming home tonight, I pulled in behind my 97 lariat and noticed that the cargo light was on, along with the interior lights. I've messed with the auto controls and cant seem to get the lamps to shut off. My father inlaw had this problem with his but he just removed the bulbs and went on. I would imagine someone else has experienced this. Please help.

I just checked and the "door ajar" light is on and I've checked all doors to make sure they are shut.

Do these door sensors need replacing or can they be adjusted? where are they located? THANKS!

It might have gotten stuck....the sensor that is.

they will be at the front of the door near the hinge, and they should not be that expensive or difficullt to replace.

Try spraying you door latch heavy with WD40. The magnet on the sensor gets dirty and the spray will clean it off.

Do what Torkum said, spray lots of WD-40 in there. Had an Expy with the same prob. Ford tried to fix it and couldn't. Sprayed WD-40 and hadn't had a problem since then.

i had an 01 ranger that did the same thing and nothing would fix it and the warrenty wouldnt cover it so i ended up getting mean with it and eventually it worked haha but i wouldnt recomend you get mean to your truck
