I have a 2000 F150 XLT and I dont know if it has an alarm. It flashes theft but I heard that all do that because of the PATS keys. Is there a way to tell if it has an alarm? thanks

I have the Factory Mechanics DVD and it only shows the anti theft pats system. Does not talk about or even mention an alarm. I think the harn blow you hear when you lock the truck is to let you know it is locked.

yeah im pretty sure its just an anti-theft system, if someone breaks a window or something i dont think it will go off

Open the window, lock your truck with your key fob and reach in and open the door from the inside. The alarm will of will not go off. Or lock yourself inside with fob and open door.

Yeah if you break the window it wont go off but if you open the door from the inside it will go off. Its like that on alot of cars and trucks.

Just me, i would try teh open the door trick first, windows get expensive and are a pita to replace. LOL

I have a 1995 F-150 XLT 2 wd ext cab i locked the doors today cam back opened drivers door lights fashed horn started blowing. Would nt quit for 1 min or so. Finaly stoped and truck would not start said CK ENG. Trided unlocking and locking drivers door nothing finaly tried pass door everthing started working. Now i am tring to find out how to disable the dam thing. So if your truck says theft i red letters i bet u have same system this thing has.
