I believe mine has a hole in it. I have an exhaust leak under accelation and it isn't the manifold or where the exhaust bolts to the manifold.
My question is does the Dorman replacement part use the OEM fitting on my manifold?

If not, does anyone have the OEM number for the tube?? Thanks Muskrat

The best thing to do is find out for sure where the leak is. With truck running have someone take a big rag and clog the exhaust pipe and carefully using your hand reach in and feel all around the exhaust manifold, egr tube and the flange where the manifold bolts to exhaust pipe. Best to start doing this when truck is all the way cool so the exhaust will not be so hot. With the exhaust pipe clogged it will cause a bigger leak to find. Good luck.

You can check yourself with the truck off and cool. IF you have a shop vac. The 2" shop vac hose fits tight into the factory tail pipe. Well, you could always wrap the hose with a rag if it doesn't. Anyway, use blower mode, turn it on and hit suspected area w/soapy water the leaks will bubble like crazy.

You can get a new EGR tube from quite a few places, -including the dealer. I shouldn't have to look that up for you. Hit the eBay stores and Amazone as well. It has to be engine/truck specific, other years ARE interchangeable.

Thats a good idea jbrew. The shop vac and soapy water. Much safer than my idea.

jbrew, I have to find a Shop-Vac that I can reverse. My vac only sucks up crap and cannot be reversed.
I gave the EGR tube a real good looking over and cannot see a hole although it does have some corrosion. Some of the mechanics I talked with all say just start replacing parts without really knowing what is at fault. Wish i had that kind of $$$$$$$.

The cheapest place I ever saw an EGR tube was Rockauto.com. Bought mine there for $13.00 less than the nearest auto parts store, including tax.

Yea Rock and Tasca are usually great on prices. Mann, it use to be a big time PITA to find EGR parts. Tubes, just the dealer, but the EGR adapters which usually rusts out, -uknow,right there at the manifold EGR connection were non existent at one time. You had to hunt one down at the scrap yard and that was a whole of fun removing one, - if it were possible lol.

Now a days, if you can't find those adapters anywhere else, Dorman sells new ones for pennys. They have every type, that's important! The connection type varies. Not just from 5four to 4six, but from 4six to 4six lol.

I have 3 Shop Vacs. On each I pulls the hose and connector out of the side that sucks stuff up. Just twist and pull and it will come out. Then go around to the exhaust side and put it in the same way it was installed on the other side. It works fine, just remember to change it back when done!
