Does the 2008 module have the same chip?

Is this true for 2008 model?

Default getting abs module off of abs assembly

You will need to remove your air filter housing to have clear access to the module. It is approximately located under the Brake Fluid Reservoir.

Make sure to disconnect your negative battery terminal. There is 50amps that runs through one of the module connections.

Unscrew the 4 screws that hold the module on the ABS pump/housing with a torx bit. Please note that your ABS pump is directly under the ABS module and there is a harness that connects to it. You will also need to remove the harness on the rear of the module.

I had issues because my truck has 150,000 miles of Connecticut corrosion on it. Only one of the screws actually came off for me. The rest had to be removed with a cutting wheel and a dremel.

For future reference, these screws are M4 x 25mm. I bought some stainless steel ones with washers since all mine were ruined.

ALSO: You CAN drive without the ABS module in place - just make sure you pull the fuse and cover up the harnesses with some tape so debris doesn't get in them. If you do this, you WONT have ABS (obviously).
nice info! I tried to unscrew the screws but they all disintegrated because of rust. if I can cut the heads off with a dremel will the module just lift off? then can I grab the remaining screw with a pair of plyers or should I drill most of the threads out and then reverse tap the rest?

Since the recommended chip in this post is now obsolete, the replacement part is

Default Pump still running after FET replaced

After Replacing The FET The pump is still running. I did notice that when I tested the FET and it seemed fine but I replaced it anyhow.

I did remove the solder and looked at the other side of the PCB. Nothing looked bad except the relay. It looked like it had deformed a bit from heat but was functional and in spec.

I also noticed the pumps power terminals looked pretty corroded. I attached a photo. When I tested the terminals they had little to no resistance between them or the case of the pump. Not sure what the resistance should be for this motor, and I also know that the resistance of DC motors vary on armature position.

I may just bit the bullet and get a refurbished assembly, anyone else had good luck with these?

Default 2009?

I have a 2009 Ford f-150 with the B1342 code. Pump does not appear to be running all the time. With all this experience could this be a simple solder reflow or maybe relay replacement? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

If ford is still using the same design ABS system from the same supplier some of these solutions could apply to a 2009. I would hope that Fords supplier would have addressed these shortcomings by 09 but who knows. The main solution this thread addresses is the bad FET shorting and causing the pump to run unless the fuse is pulled. A second issue was the pump running for a few minutes after the truck is shut down. That sometimes can be caused by cracked solder joints on the relay pins.If the pump shuts down on its own, its not the FET.
This system was used on late 90s through mid 2004 at least but it is possible Ford used it on the next generations as well.

My Airbags.com says they will repair my years module so I am thinking it may have at least the cracked solder joints. I will be taking it out this week and seeing if there are cracked solder joints. I will post a reply here on my findings. Whats the worst that could happen... It's already broke. LOL

Quick question. Can you remove the module and still drive around but just without ABS? Do you have to bleed the system when it is done?

Yes you can... pull the ABS fuses and cover up the pump face with foil and tape and I bagged the connector to keep it clean and moisture free. No bleeding involved... Once you remove the module from the pump you will understand how it works..
