Thank you for all your responses. My next question is what type of bolts are used. I'm buying another cover to be powder coated and want to get hardware also to be painted. Last question i promise. When i refill my differential how fluid is used. I really appreciate all the help.

Agreed! I've seen some funny stuff going on haha...

To the OP, what are you building a show truck? Lol rattle can that stuff! Haha...

Naw if I lived in Texas I'd probably break out the paint guns and expensive paint to paint components... but around here with the salt and chemicals I paint my frame and everything every spring with a few cans... winter does a number on trucks around here :/ no use in spending time and $$ to make things pretty when you hafta do it every spring regardless of what you use, I made a mistake and used expensive primer and paint on all my custom components as well as axles n such when I built my truck only to have it get ruined over a few winters...

The rearend bolts are the only standard sized bolts on the entire vehicle. IIRC there 5/16-18.

In my experience ALL 5.4L had 9.75" and all 4.6L had 8.8"

Some advice is do NOT go with a chrome cover, they retain heat. A aluminum cover is best as it dissipates heat much better. I like the Off Road Unlimited, Mag-Hytec, & TA Covers.

I had a TA on my 2003 and have a Mag-Hytec on my 2013.

DONT FORGET THE FRICTION MODIFIER IF YOU HAVE A LS DIFF!
