Default Clutch master clyinder replacement

I am replacing the clutch master cylinder in my 1999 4x2, 4.2liter, f150 5-speed.

I am having trouble removing the push rod from the cylinder. Is there a special tool to release the rod?

Thanks for the help.

Some replacement cylinders come with the rod, you disconnect at the pedal. What does the replacement look like?
