Most carb cleaners are ether or toluene based. While this isn't good for combusting in the cylinder or prolonged use in the injector, it's a decent solvent for getting most deposits with the injectors off. With such short exposure there shouldn't be any decreased life from the injector. That is if you are doing them like in the video. Adding naphtha, ether, or toluene based products to the gas is a different story.

Unless you're having a problem there's really no need to go to the extreme cleaning method like in the video. If you don't run a top tier fuel, you can use a PEA cleaner through the fuel system to keep things clean through a maintenance level.

Are there certain seafoam products to buy for different applications (fuel system or oil additive) or do you use the same product for both?

Will seafoam or some other kind of fuel injector cleaners clear my clogged fuel injectors? Also, will a clogged fuel injector cause my engine to sputter/vibrate? It feels like it is running out of fuel when it does this. But, when I really step on it, it feels fine. Any suggestions?
