Clattering sound at Start Up

Clattering sound at Start Up
I have an 03 SuperCrew with a 5.4 with 105k miles.
Sometimes when I crank my truck (cold starts), I will hear a loud clattering sound, which I'm assuming is the oil pump priming up.. At first I had a Fram oil filter on there, so I changed it to a Motorcraft, but still have the clatter sometimes.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I was thinking maybe a thicker oil(I use 5w-20 Motorcraft synthetic blend now), or maybe add some Lucas?

Maybe More Simple Than That:
Most start-up clatter is due to lifter leak-down...try adding about 8oz of STP to the oil and see what happens.
As for the oil viscosity: Many will disagree, but an engine with that much mileage piled up will be happier with 0W30, 5W30 or 10W30 full synthetic. Mobil 1 10W30 High-Mileage would be my choice if the engine shows any amount of oil consumption.
My '97 4.6L at 125K miles likes 0W30, but the engine uses no oil whatsoever.

UPDATE:
I changed my oil 3 days ago with MotorCraft filter, MotorCraft 5w-20 synthetic blend (5 qts) and Lucas (1 qt). The occasional really loud clattering hasn't happened again. But I still have a small ½ second clatter pretty regularly when I cold crank the truck, never when hot though.
Would it be ok for me to add STP to the oil/Lucas mix? And do yall think it would help? I'm sick of this clatter!!

The clatter is better than a blown engine due to blown gaskets and seals from making the oil too thick by adding too many additives.
If there is such a thing for Ford trucks, a dry sump device would solve the problem if in fact is is from oil starvation on startup. Basically a dry sump device is a small oil tank that holds oil under pressure when you shut the engine down and then sends the oil back to the engine under pressure when you start the vehicle.
If it was me and I was sick of it, I would take it to the dealer and pay $89.00 diagnostic fee for them to tell me what is causing it and how much it would be to fix.
Add STP after using any other oil additive and you will be sorry for sure.
