Default Cam Shaft Sensor

I have a 2002 F150 4.2 L. Ive had alot of trouble recently and was hoping someone could give me some time saving advice. I had a poor running truck that i couldnt figure out. Was getting conflicting codes and the truck barely ran. I found that my wiring harness had fallen down onto my exhaust manifold and melted the cover around the harness but the wires looked intact. Once I moved the harness to a safe location the fuses stopped blowing and it seem to run a little better. I was still getting codes for a cam shaft sensor so I replaced it along with the sychronizer figuring maybe I had shorted it out. Easy enough, so I thought. After a few days I started getting another cam sensor code so I decided to pull the harness apart and look a little deeper. I found that I had a frayed wire I believe was the cam shaft sensor wire. Soldered that wire and put it back together. Ran good for about 30 miles on the test run then started running bad again. Better than before but just not right. After the 60 mile point the CEL gave me a P1336 Code. I believe it means the cam sensor is not synching with the crank sensor. Question.... Does the cam sensor need to be realigned? It was aligned properly when first installed but Im wondering if the frayed wire may have thrown it out of timing after the cam sensor was installed by me running it with the poor electrical problem. Sorry to be so long winded but Im proud I could consolidate a months worth of trouble in a simple paragraph. Thanks
