got a bad cv joint in the front ifs an need to no how to get around with out haven to take the upper an lower a-arms off too get the axle out

hey man just changed mine on my '03... you will have to split the upper ball joint but the lower can stay put, and just smack the knuckle with a mallet a few times. the upper a arm will pop right loose. dont use a pickle fork if you arent replacing your upper ball joint. it will tear the boot up. other than that it should only take you about an hour and a half per side, there pretty simple to change on these trucks.

so in other words you dont have to take either of the control arms out, just have to split the upper from the knuckle. good luck!

I'm replacing my half half shaft too but when i took the the upper ball joint out i didn't take the nut off all the way now i can't cause it wont stop turning, any way to get to stop with out trying to hold it a pliers?
