brakes question
I found a guy selling a Ford powerstop performance brake kit for a '97-02 Expedition which if I remember right will fit on my '97 F-150. The ad reads as follows:
Have this whole brake set for 97-2002 ford Expedition and same year Lincoln navigator. Set includes front and rear drilled and slotted rotors. Front and rear performance calipers with towing duty brake pads.
300 obo
I assume this means that the rear uses discs as well, and since I don't want to do a drum to disc swap I won't use them. Do I have to upgrade my drum brakes as well or can I just put the fronts on and everything will be alright? My next question is, does anyone know if this has the caliper brackets with it / if it doesn't can I take the brackets off of an Expedition and it will work? I'm trying to get an item number so I can ask the powerstop company on this.

The guy contacted me back and said this kit does not have the brackets. I know I need them, but does anyone know if I can go to a scrap yard and pull the caliper brackets off of an Expedition and they will work? I am assuming that it will beings they didn't come with the brackets, just looking for more in site.

If you just want to do the fronts, this is you Powerstop part number KC1869-36 and they do ship with powder coated brackets. I'm sure there are better ways to do the upgrade but it should works.

Genuine Ford, Non-reman, Steel pistons, better rotors. All of these items as far as I know are questionable as to their quality or origin.
I've also never really been a fan of holy rotors and with today's brake pads, you don't really even need slotted.

PowerSlots are known to warp. I wont run them. I'm using OE Motorcraft rotors from a 02 Expedition with 7700 calipers with Motorcraft pads. Been that way for a long time and only cost about $200.
