This is a great post. Had my brake pedal settling as well. Tested my HCU today; the paper clip moved about 3/8 inch in the passenger side port. Shopping for a new unit.

Same problem here. Id like to follow your lead on the ebay seller. Did you have any problems with the part you ordered now that a few months have passed. I think i found the same seller. Ready to pull the trigger on this if your review is a good one. Thx again for posting this. Helped a ton.

I just bought from eBay, seller is sae-auto. Just installed the new abs module last night. Everything now works as it should.

Default HCU only?

I have the same problem of brake fade. I replaced Master with no change in brake fade. Looks like it will be the ABS unit as you have described here. My question is this, I've been looking at the eBay replacements and see two different options. Some are selling just the HCU and others the HCU attached to the pump. Do I need both or will just replacing the black plastic HCU fix my issue? Any experience in this area would be appreciated!

No. I don't think that is the issue. The pedal is normal. Just fades at a stop.

By "fades at a stop" do you mean the pedal slowly goes to the floor? Or do you mean it eventually quits holding your truck at a stop?

Pedal moves slowly towards the floor. It holds the truck at a stop as long as I keep pressure. It's never gone all the way to the floor.
Will the HCU alone fix this or do I need to replace ABS Pump and HCU?

I'm sure the boosters due for a swap anyways, might as well give it a shot and return it if not, it's only 2 bolts and a pin in the cab

With the engine off step on the brakes several times and hold the pressure. Start the engine, did you feel the brake pedal move downward?

If NO, Bad Brake Booster
If YES, Bad Master Cylinder
