Default brake lights stay on sometimes & kills battery 1998 f150

It happens when I press the brake pedal hard before turning off, then later on brake light turns on. Now if I adjust the brake booster it will fix my light staying on when it is off in park? or is there an easier way, is there a thing I can adjust on the brake pedal or is it a spring or something that is getting old no adjuster? I can't see up under the dash.

If I pull up on the brake pedal the brake light turns off. it moves a tiny bit & that is enough to keep my brake lights on.

The brake light switch behind the brake pedal lever either needs adjustment (if adjustable) or replacement.

I have this issue but have yet to tackle it. It's not my switch. After parking the pedal will settle slightly until the lights come on. It takes quite a while. Maybe a couple of hours. For now I use a bungee cord to hold the pedal up lol. After I fix it I'll post what it was.

Weak spring tension on the pedal lever might be your fix. Replace the spring.

Thanks!! I had the battery die 3 or 5 times now, at low 4V too & charged it up. Still works. That RedTop takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I even Had it at a low 5V all winter one time, not sure what killed it then. Charged it up then & still works today. 9 lives that Bat.

Damn I was hoping adjusting the brake booster would help, I might still try it. Make it harder, Breaks are too soft anyways.
