Power window problem
I just bought a 97 ext. cab 150, and the previous owners did their own "electrical fixes." Now putting it back together wired correctly, the windows still don't work, but when you press the driver side up switch, my Door Ajar light comes on until you let go of the switch.
I have a fairly good knowledge of electrical repair (since its my job in the Air Force). But this is throwing me for a loop. The only thing I can think of is the GEM is bad throwing wrong signals to different crap.
Has anyone ran into this before?

Well I got the windows up. Both regulators are bad. I ran a wire striaght from the battery ro the switch and assisted the pass. motor up. The drivers motor is siezed. I just disconnect the window from the track, and cut some wood to hold it up (it's raining at the moment)
But I still have the door ajar issue. I can get more indepth with wire colors and what not but just curious as to if anyone else has a fix.
I googled this issue and found on this forum (somewhere) that the 04 and newer have simular issues, and the fix was a bad ground in the door. I checked out the ground and it was a little high, but ran a new one straight to the door frame and it didn't fix the problem.

Well after thinking for the past few says I've concluded I'm going to go to the local pick n pull, grab the two window motors, and a GEM module. Then proceed to investigate the module resolder what needs to be clean up what needs to be cleaned and seal the ever living **** out of it. Gonna wiat till I get me registration done and LED retro fit in before though.
Ill let you know how things work

i have a 98 ford and the drivers side window works fine but the passenger side window always hesitates and is really slow and when i started it up this morning the window wouldn't ever go down. i have read that this is a common problem with these vehicles.
