Default Best aftermarket coils for 01 4.6?

What type of aftermarket coils do you 4.6 owners run and how do you like them? I'm still undecided. Just looking for more power and economy.

OEM is the best. There are 9sec Lightnings using them. If you MUST replace them which as I said not worth it Weapon X is the only ones I would use.

I running WeaponX coils. OEM are the best outright for longevity and reliabilty.

OEM, =

Motorcraft DG508
Visteon 60-1000

Aftermarket, =

WeaponX coils

____________

Purchased a new set last month, blew half my Visteons. Was going for the same, then I came upon Motorcrafts which were about 60 bills cheaper for the set. Usually Visteons are cheaper in price...not this time.

Unless yours are bad, power and fuel econ will not be gained from new coils.

I have weapon X on my 4V mustang and have had nothing but issues with them. Wish I would have just gone with OEM from the get go.

That depends upon the actual problem, also upon who your talking too....whether it's Mr. 'what's a snot rag' or any other of the good posts in this thread. Uknow, since all advice in this one would save you money.

Really, that's interesting. They are 4v coils correct? Yea, had to ask, since they are indeed different.

Yeah, it's a GT with a cobra swap. We were chasing a random misfire for a long time. Finally the thing almost died coming off the freeway throwing misfire codes. Turns out two of the coils bit the dust. I tossed two motocraft ones in my dad had and the misfires and stuttering at cruise are gone. I also just had one of the coils die in the truck, feels like I"m cursed!
