Has anyone encountered a back seat that will not fold forward? It is the drivers side and I cannot access the storage behind it. The lever moves but the seat back will not release.

Encountered this before on an explorer. Pain in the rear, had to remove seat to gain access to cables. Slight adj and good to go.

It has no cables. Just a long rod.

Is there a thread at either end that can be adjusted, it not when the **** or lever is mooved does it pull or push the release latch. If it pulls to release then shorten the rod, bend it slightly if possible. Or can the latch be mooved for adjustment. There has to be some means for adjustment.

I found the problem. I took the plastic cover off & there was a little plastic ball sitting right under the lever.
