Cold Air Intake Good or Bad? and Favorite Brand
I have heard some people say it's good, some say it's bad (as under hood temperatures rise it decreases performance) What does everyone think? And what is their favorite brand?

Everyone has their own opinions. Not too sure with the Fords, but I have had my tuner on my last GM do dyno tests. Those tests showed anywhere from 2-5 HP on a stock tune. 6-12 HP on a custom tune and the best gains are when you have power adders with a custom tune. IMHO, $400 or even $200 is too much money for a couple of HP. They do however give an aggressive sound and look better under the hood. That still isn't enough justification for me.

I put in a K&N series 57 fipk and gained at least 1 mpg not to mention when you need to put your foot in it , it sounds real nice. I got lucky and found mine on c.l. A week after I bought the truck it was brand new still in the box.

I dont like them. i have engine mods and I'm still using the stock air intake, minus the silencer, and using the gotts mod. Even my with headers, cams, and a few other goodies, I saw a slight decrease when tuning the truck. Open air cleaners will pull in hot air even if it has a heat shield.
