looks easy to me. but everyones perspective differs.

i found this write up online

looks like ill need alot more than i thought. ill need new bearings, fluids, shims, special tools, plus the new gears. then i would have to recalibrate my ecu or speedo so it reads proper.

i need to figure out how much $$$ a total gear swap costs. including lube, tools etc. everything needed. if anyone can help out with a list of stuff to buy id appreciate it.

right now i am thinking the gears might have to be down the road for later date. but the other part of me says do it all in one shot. so i am still undecided. i guess my $$$$ will choose for me unfortunatly

also when people say lockers what does that mean? lsd? and would i just need the lsd in the rear end? do they have any cheap kits that lock the factory diff like they make for hondas?

i am trying to learn as much as i can before i tackle the build. i also plan on undercoating the entire frame to help protect it for long term.

You have a 04 F150 heritage body style. Its basically a 03 xl F150 with a 4,2.

pics form stereo install and plasti dipped logos

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

only tape to create a boarder for plasti dip. prep'd with alcohol pad

[IMG][/IMG]

peels so easy if you layer it think. tends to run/drip so spray a bunch of lite coats instead of one thick one.

i will take some more pics tomorrow of entire truck and finished emblems. plasti dipping the grill and bumpers if the weather permits.

also if this thread is better suited in the build section mods please move my thread please do not delete.
