Default Annoying squeak

Just bought my son a 1998 F150 XLT extended cab this past week. It has a very annoying squeak in the front end. I do know these trucks have issues with sway bar bushings but it sounds more to me like cab mounts. The front of the truck squeaks whether its moving or you press on the front end sitting still.

Anyone else have this issue or a cause so I'm not just throwing money at this problem.

Thanks,

Ray

I would start by looking at the shock bushings, its possible the shocks need replaced anyway.

Seems to me that you could have your son bounce the front of the truck while you get under the truck and watch and listen for the squeak. It may be something real easy like sway bar brackets or the shocks that somebody mentioned earlier

I've got that same problem with relatively new ball joints and shocks. I'm think about replacing tie rod ends or sway bar links, not sure yet as I'm slammed and haven't had much time for a good inspection of it. Hell it could be something totally different idk yet. What I plan to do (and what I suggest you to do) is lubricate/grease one thing at a time then see if the problem persists or not. When you do that and the problem is 'fixed', replace it and it will be fixed. I'll keep you updated on my situation, maybe yours is the same, maybe not
