Default alternator bad?

My battery Guage dropped a week ago but didn't have a battery light on, so i replaced the battery, and now when i get above 1500 rpm the battery light flickers and the volt Guage drops. I tested it with the battery and charging system we have at work (firestone ed-18) and it said no problems. If i stay below 1500 rpms the volt Guage stays up. Any ideas?

Check all your connections starting with the alternator. Check for tightness and corrision. Check for visible corrision and corrision inside the charging wires. Also check with a voltmeter and tell us what is the charge rate. At idle should be 13.5 to 14.

If all the connections are good, a battery light usually indicates an alternator problem.

I didn't see any signs of burnt wires but i also didn't unplug to confirm. Haven't had a lot of time to look at it yet.

This. If it is not giving you these numbers then try replacing alternator.

14.7 yes, but 12.6 is max for today's battery's (use to be 12.8). So your correct but, - a good battery can read lower, it depends how much suffering it has done before checking. In other words, it may not have had the the chance to maintain it's full capacity. Since the Alternator is in question, - so is maintaining battery charge.
