Question All Gauges swing to max when starting

F150 King Ranch / Lariat / XLT / Super Crew 4D / 5.4L V8 EFI

When Starting engine all major dash gauge needles swing right to the max and then settle back down after 2 seconds.

No other problems ...

Yup, it's probably the 'ol Battery... It has failed me a few times on the coldest mornings lately, had to kick 'er over with my jump starter...

Usaully if you disconect the battery and connect it again the gauges will do that. It should only do it one time, well at least with my truck.

I thought some of them were supposed to do that as sort of a test.

I'm not sure. I did run my battery down this weekend by accident and noticed that the needles sorta hung over at max for several seconds before they swung back to normal.

I had honestly never noticed before!

Yeah it would be the first time after the battery has been disconnected.

Garv'n the beef here .... Maybe this should be a new tread but..... Symptom & solutions via experience is like swing'n a sledge hammer at a fly that landed on your windshield. Of course we'll wouldn' hav to do this if the source technical information was made available by FORD... i.e. computer start-up flow charts etc... Service manuals & technical information for the DIY community...

... Would you'll like horse radish with ur sandwich?
