Air conditioning always on...
Six months ago I purchased my 2003 Supercrew 4x4. Now that the weather is warming up, it seems that the A/C is always on. When the control switch is in any position other than Off, the air is definately colder than the outside air. When in the A/C or Max A/C position, the air does blow colder, but in the Panel, Floor, etc. positions the air is colder than expected.
I noticed that the A/C pump clutch does cycle on and off when idleing and the controller is not in an A/C position. Is this normal behavior?
Thanks.

I have a 2001 screw and I think mine's the same way- not sure why it does it. I never owned a vehicle before that did that. However, the condnenser would kick on when you turned the dial to the defrost setting. My condenser seems to be on for any setting other than off. Beats me! If that's what was really happening, I know my gas mileage would be better with it off...

the compressor removes moisture from the air which makes it useful for defrosting. I find most of the cars that I have owned from the 1999+ model years have done the same thing. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of it because it does decrease your gas mileage sometimes unneccesarily.
