Default After market tach

Have any of you installed an aftermarket tach in your trucks???? If so anything special needed or installing? I heard that I might need a multiple coil adapter or something like that, and is installation easy? (4.6) Thx

#1 if you change your cluster yer gonna have to take it to the dealer to get the miles set to your motor.... i thank that cost a good chunk of change , not sure.....

#2 mine didnt have a wire either.......

do a google search and u will find a link on other forums tellin u how to do it.......
