Default abs issue

my truck random turns the abs light on sometimes when started. I can not get a code because, once you shut the truck off the light goes out(restart truck= no light). I've tried searching to no avail. Anyone heard of this before?

id bet on a speed sensor. Same thing happened until I got my wallet raped by ford. Check the speed sensors for cracking or tearing. If one is cracked or anything that is most likely the issue

Your speedometer reads directly from the transmission. The wheel speed sensors (if 4 wheel abs - 1 on on each front hub & and 1 on the rear diff, if rear abs only then just the rear diff) communicate with the abs module to determine if a tire is moving faster than another. So, no. A bad wheel sensor will not affect the speedometer.

thank you, i am thinking speed sensor as in actual speed sensor. I'm going to get going on testing all the abs sensors.

What year is it and what system does it have? They have RABS and 4WABS. You can tell if it has 4WABS if you see a large device under the hood with a bunch of brake lines going into it.
