99 ford f-150 troubles help
First the abs light stays on what can I do I dont want to take it to the dealers and if you know what to do can you go step by step as I am not real mechanically inclined. Second it is an automatice with o/d and a 2 wheel drive when I am going between 40 and 60 or so and press the accelerator you can hear and feel a clunk was wondering what this could be?

I don't have the experience with the ABS issue, others will offer help on that. First thing comming to mind on the clunk is driveshaft U-joints. Is there any noise when shifting forward to reverse? Some times early warning noises are apparent when doing this. If noises are apparent, put truck in neutral, parking brake on, engine off. Go under truck and rotate driveshaft back and forth to see which U-joint is at fault. Lets start there and get back to us.

Shifting in and out of overdrive can result in an abrupt feeling - however it shouldn't be to the point of a 'clunk'.
As mentioned by Bill - could be a driveline issue such as a u-joint or even an axle issue. Cheap and easy to have a look-see.
One option is to use the OD override, so as never drop into overdrive.
If there are no other driveline issues - the other option isn't cheap - tear into the tranny torque converter.
Definitely suggest to check the easy and cheaper stuff out first before committing to a tranny pull.
