Default 99 F150 RWD---Tire selection help

Hey everyone so my tires are on they're last limb and the snow is about to start falling. So im getting ready to order tires for the my truck.

Currently on the stock wheels with 255/60/r16 Fuzion SUV tires

My current plan is to get some pretty aggressive tires for the rear and some nice all seasons for the front. But im not sure if rocking 2 different types of tires is going to destroy them quickly so i am looking for some advice.

I am an avid snowboarder and winter sports person. I surf all year long and will definitely be driving in some snow, avoiding it as much as possible but its going to happen.

So i am currently loooking at a few options, here they are. Also is there really a big differnece in going up a size or two on tire width?

In the Rear: 235/70/16 or 255/70/16
General Grabber hts on/offroad
Yokohama Geolander

Front: 235/70 or 255/70
General Grabber HTS (highway all season)
Yokohama Geolander HTS

There are lots of tires out there. I have owned Generals in the past on previous vehicles and they have always been good tires imo. I am open to ideas and suggestions for tire size and style.

***Note i will be buying matching sizes for the front and rear im just more interested in what size benefits me more and if there is a tire that most people prefer for RWD trucks

There is no harm in running 2 different brands on a rwd truck. IMO it looks cheap, seeing 2 different brands.

Your speedo and shift points will be slightly off with different sized tires unless you re-calibrate via programmer. That jump will be minimal.

Default Fuzion SUV tires...???...

Hey Scibz...

"stock wheels with 255/60/r16 Fuzion SUV tires"

I just got a price on 4 of the Fuzion SUV tires and want to know
how they worked out?

I got a '98 S-Cab XLT 4x2 (has trailer tow pkg.) and was thinking of
going a little bigger than the P235/75R16 on now... just worried about
lock-2-lock & travel.

Looked at Fuzion SUV LT245/79R16 so all 4 are close to the full-size spare
just to keep it simple.

Are the 255/60/r16 a good fit for clearance?

The truck is all "stock" as far as suspension and such...

Thanks...

Im going to be buying a matching set so yes the tires will be rotated.

Rockerman: the tires size i have on the car now has plenty of clearance. i have had no issues with them

Exclamation tires......

Hey Scibz...

Went back to local Firestone dealer to get FuZion tires and ALL OUT
of stock......dammit......

Got a great deal on four 235/70R-16 IRONMAN ALL COUNTRY A/T 106T
OWL tires....not real aggressize as I mostly run the freeway.

Max inflation @ 44-PSI.

Not loud...roll great....enough to handle Michigan snow...

45,000 mile warranty...mounted, balanced, new valves, under $400!

Funky tread on sidewall....see link for reference:

Same size as OEM full-size spare......first time EVER used since new!

So far...so good...

Have a great holiday!

Thanks......
